Ready, set, go! It’s time to get your team together for the Amazing Meals on Wheels Race.

Meals on Wheels of Erath County is once again hosting its own version of the popular reality TV show, The Amazing Race, and it’s time to get your team together to compete.

The 6^th annul Amazing Meals on Wheels Race starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, beginning and ending at the Cross Timbers Legacy Center.

Check-in begins at 4:30.

“We are celebrating 30 years of Meals on Wheels of Erath County and have a big night planned,” MOWEC executive director Elizabeth Johnson told Beneath the Surface News.

The evening will include a watch party (with karaoke) and snacks.  

Something new this year: Teams can purchase a road block for $100, which blocks another team from moving for one minute.

The cost to enter a three-person team is $100 and spots are still available.

Proceeds, of course, benefit Meals on Wheels, which supplies 4,000 hot meals per month to local senior citizens.
