Meet Sprite. This week’s featured dog comes with a really sad story.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Sprite, a three to four-year-old female Lab mix.

“She is a very friendly lady that loves people,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She is a little strong on a leash, but will not drag you around.”

Sprite’s story is a sad one.

She has been at the shelter since January and not a single person has shown any interest in adopting her.

“She is very sweet and would love a nice home to call her own,” Serena said.

Sprite is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Unfortunately, she is also heart worm positive and on treatment.

Lucy is four-year-old female domestic shorthair.

“She is fantastic with children and new people,” Serena said. “She loves scratches and head pets the most.”

Lucy is litter box trained, spayed and microchipped.

She does well when left alone, but does not get along with other animals and should be only pet in the home.

If you would like to meet Sprite, Lucy or the other 75 dogs or 57 cats up for adoption, stop by the shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
