This week’s featured pets include a dog that has been at the animal shelter for more than a year.
One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Rosco, a one to two-year old Pit mix.
“He has been at the shelter since April 2021,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He was adopted and returned because they could not keep him contained or from going after the neighbor's dog and livestock.”
Despite his aggression toward other animals, Serena says he is “an absolute sweetheart with people and children.”
Rosco is housebroken and crate trained.
“He would need to be crated when left alone because he has a tendency to chew on things when he’s bored,” she said. “He does well while walking on a leash and riding in a car, but will need a secure fence because he can jump out of 4-foot-tall chain link fences.”
Rosco is also neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention.
Fanta is a 10-year-old male Domestic Shorthair.
"He is a very funny man who can be affectionate and cuddly when he wants to be,” Serena said. “He enjoys attention, but will let you know when he is done by giving a little nip.”
Fanta would probably do best in a home without children.
He is litter box trained, neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
