Child endangerment, drug possession top this month’s Erath County grand jury indictments.

The following list is from the Erath County District Attorney’s Office and includes last week’s grand jury indictments.
• Guillermo Victor Bentancur for theft of a firearm, a state jail felony.
• Gabrielle Marie Cameron for two counts of endangering a child, a state jail felony.
• Dale Walker Harwell Jr. for driving while intoxicated with child passenger, a state jail felony.
• Kalie Michaela Hendrix for possession of a substance in penalty group 1, a state jail felony.
• Amara Lynette Iribarren for driving while intoxicated with child passenger, a state jail felony.
• Charles Gale Kinney Jr. for possession of a substance in penalty group 1, a second degree felony, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a third degree felony.
• Joshua Glenn Largent for theft over $2,500 with two or more prior convictions, a state jail felony.
• Chad Vance McNutt for possession of a substance in penalty group 1, a state jail felony.
• Lorena Yamileth Miranda for manslaughter and manufacture or delivery of a substance in penalty group 1, both second degree felonies.
• Christian Anthony Mora for continuous violence against the family, a third degree felony.
• Jill Marie Paffumi for possession of a substance in penalty group 1, a state jail felony.
• Jovan Pere for possession of a substance in penalty group 1, a second degree felony.
• David Craig Steele for possession of a substance in penalty group 1, a third degree felony.

It's always sobering to see the human toll behind these indictment lists—especially the cases involving child endangerment and DWIs with kids in the car. While these are just charges, not convictions, they're a reminder of how many lives in our small community are touched by addiction and poor decisions. Hopefully the justice system can both hold people accountable and connect them with help before more harm is done.
