Erath County EMS and the Stephenville Fire Department are partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive.
“This event spurs from a current national shortage in blood bank supply, as well as to highlight the level of emergency care to all Erath County citizens and visitors,” EMT Colby Swearingen told Beneath the Surface News.
“About a year ago we expanded our blood program to include a unit of blood products on each of our ambulances.
“Since the program's inception, there have been multiple lives saved by preventing death of a patient until they could get to trauma surgery in the Metroplex.”
The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the new Erath County Annex, located at 222 E. College Street in Stephenville.
