One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Tater, a 6-month-old male domestic shorthair.

“Tater is the most outgoing of his brothers, but don't let that fool you because he's still a little cautious in new situations,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“Brought in as a stray with his family, Tater has shown a brave little spirit and is often the first to peek out and see what's going on.

“He's curious, sweet and slowly learning that people equal love and snacks.”

Tater is microchipped, dewormed, neutered, microchipped and partially vaccinated.

Lolita is a two-year-old female terrier mix.

“She came to us as a stray with her two puppies and was never reclaimed,” Serena said.

“Despite her rough start, she remains a sweet and gentle soul who is happiest when simply sitting with someone and soaking up love.”

While Lolita hasn't been officially dog-tested, she hasn't shown positive reaction toward other dogs, so a home where she can be the only pet might be best.

Lolita is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and heartworm negative.

“She is ready to find a calm, loving home where she can finally relax and feel safe,” Serena said.
