This dog will steal your food (and your heart), but life at an animal shelter isn’t for her.

Mokey

Say hi to Mokey! She is one of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society.

Mokey is a three to four-year-old female Aussie Heeler mix.

“She is a very sweet girl and is cat and dog friendly,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “Mokey is housebroken, but needs some work on a leash.”

Mokey can break out of wire crates, but does well when left in the house unsupervised. She is food motivated and will steal yours if you don’t watch out.

Living in the shelter is stressing Mokey out so finding her a home soon is important.

Mokey is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention.

Pilot

CAT OF THE WEEK

Pilot is a three-year old male domestic shorthair described as “sweet and friendly.”

“He is a feisty boy, but is very affectionate on his own terms,” Serena said.

Pilot is litter box trained and microchipped.

If you would like to meet Mokey, Pilot or the other 68 dogs and 31 cats that need homes, stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
