The Texas Commission on the Arts in Austin has selected the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council to receive an America250 grant, awarded through TCA’s Commission Initiative program.
CTFAC was chosen to represent Texas’ U.S. 25th Congressional District in this statewide celebration of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
The America250 grant supports arts-focused programming that commemorates the 250th birthday of the United States, honoring the July 4, 2026, milestone through creative, community-centered celebrations.
CTFAC has three activities planned as part of this historic initiative, including a patriotic art exhibition by the organization’s resident artists, a children’s art event, “Red, White & Blue” on June 9 and a “Stars & Stripes Chalk Walk” on July 4.
“We are honored to have been selected to represent Stephenville to celebrate this important commemoration of America’s 250th birthday," CTFAC Executive Director Christine Newton said.
“Our deepest thanks to the Texas Commission on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and U.S. Congressman Roger Williams for this incredible opportunity.”
The CTFAC Resident Artists exhibit “American Spirit in Art: A Star-Spangled Celebration of 250 Years” is currently on display at the Erath County Annex III.
“CTFAC would like to thank Erath County Judge Brandon Huckabee for allowing us to showcase this vibrant, patriotic artwork at the County Annex,” Newton added.
“We are truly grateful for his continued support of the arts.”
