Koda

This week’s featured pet up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Koda, a seven to eight-year-old female Husky.

“She is a very friendly girl that walks well on a leash,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She does well in a crate, is housebroken and knows basic commands.

“And she loves people.”

Koda is dog friendly, but doesn’t like cats.

“She is a typical Husky that will jump a fence or find a way out, so she will need a very secure fence or someone to go out with her,” Serena said.

“We ask that potential adopters have previous Husky experience or are willing to do extensive research on the breed before adopting.”

Koda is very vocal and would probably not do well in an apartment.

Huskies are known to be loud, energetic and have a large prey drive.

Koda is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

She was adopted in June 2022, but was returned a year later.

She has been at the shelter ever since.
