The Love Basket food pantry raising money to build permanent new location.
The Love Basket in Dublin is facing an unexpected challenge after the owner of its current location on Elm Street sold the property.

The food pantry is now starting the process to raise money to build a new, permanent facility.
Ray and Barbara Sissom have been running The Love Basket since it first opened in 2005.
Since 2007, the food pantry has operated from its current location on Elm Street inside the Quik-Lok Storage buildings.
But when the storage units sold, the Sissoms were informed that the food pantry would need to find a permanent location.
“The owners have told us that we can stay until we build a place, which is a big blessing,” Barbara told Beneath the Surface News.
“Dublin Family Worship has offered to let us build behind the church, but we need to raise money to be able to do that.”
The Love Basket is a partner agency with the Erath County United Way, where it gets the majority of its funding. The rest is covered by private donations.
The food pantry is open from 8-11 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. on the first and third Friday of every month, serving 120-130 families each day.
“Those numbers increase by 20 to 30 families in November and December,” Barbara said.
The Love Basket has already secured a $5,000 donation from one of its supporters, but needs more.
