Tarleton to host slew of events for Founder’s Week, April 15-20.

Tarleton State University will host Founder’s Week April 15-20 in Stephenville and at extended campus locations.

 


Filled with traditions, the week honors university founder John Tarleton.


On the Stephenville campus, Cruise the Island begins the festivities at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, at Alumni Island.


Silver Taps will be observed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Alumni Island to honor alumni, faculty, staff and friends who passed away over the past year.



The public is invited to attend.

 

From April 18-20, the 58th Annual Tarleton Stampede takes over Lone Star Arena with exciting rodeo action on display at 7:30 p.m. each night.


Highlights late in the week include Oscar P’s Birthday Bash and Spring Concert on Thursday, April 18, and the Ring Ceremony and May Fete on Friday, April 19.

 


The Caleb Sutton Band and Alex Aguilar will be featured during the concert Thursday night.

 

Following tailgate activities and the O.W.L.S 100-year celebration to start the day Saturday, the Purple and White intrasquad football game kicks off at 2 p.m.
