‘Lap dog’ that likes to cuddle and cat that walks on a leash are this week’s featured pets.
One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Diamond, a two to three-year-old female Anatolian mix.
“She is dog friendly, but she does have a dominant personality and will need a meet-and-greet,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “We are not sure how she does with cats or livestock.”
Diamond is described as a "lap dog" that loves to cuddle.
“She is mostly potty trained, but will need a refresher course,” Serena said. “She is good on a leash and would enjoy a home where she can stretch her legs. She does have some resource guarding issues around food and other dogs, so she should be separated when she’s fed.”
Diamond is calm, rarely barks and likes to ride in a car, but she is scared of baths and likes to dig outside.
Diamond is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention. Sofia is a seven-year-old female Siamese mix.
“She is a very pretty lady that was surrendered due to housing issues,” Serena said. “She came in on a harness and is said to walk well on a leash.”
The previous owner said she is good with dogs, cats, kids and strangers, but she is very stressed living at the shelter.
Sofia is spayed, microchipped and litter box trained.
To meet Diamond or Sofia, stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
