HomeTown Physical Therapy has introduced a new service that helps patients improve flexibility, balance and mobility.
The new “Stretch & Recovery” program is the first of its kind in Stephenville.
Owners Mark Blackburn and Brandi Wood developed the 25-minute program and trained their staff on technique.
“We have started with the assisted stretching program and will soon be adding other services,” Wood told Beneath the Surface News.
The cash-based service does not require a prescription to book an appointment.
Marc Simpson is the “Stretch & Recovery” program director and stretch coach.
He said clients who have taken part in the program have responded with positive feedback.
“The clients we have stretched thus far have reported that they are feeling better, with less pain and more mobility after their sessions,” Simpson said.
The program’s additional benefits include pain relief, reduction in stress and improvement to posture and overall mobility.
“Most Stretch and Recovery clients are active community members - not physical therapy patients - who are focused on enhancing their health or recovering after athletic events like a half-marathon," Blackburn said.
The routine targets all major muscle groups from head to calf.
MY EXPERIENCE
I was excited to schedule an appointment on Tuesday for a session with Marc Simpson.
At 55, I’m not as flexible as I used to be, and keeping my body healthy, strong and limber is high on my list of priorities.
The 25-minute session was similar to a massage.
The body is gently manipulated and stretched with enough pressure to feel a slight strain, but no discomfort.
It’s performed on a custom stretch bench with the pressure of each stretch customized to my ability and comfort level.
I have to say, I was a little nervous going in, but those jitters quickly dissolved the moment the treatment began.
I was encouraged to take deep breaths throughout the stretching, which started in my lower body – from my legs, hips and calves and working up to my back, arms, shoulders and neck.
When I left, I felt limber, strong and relaxed.
I loved the way it made me feel.
HomeTown PT will soon begin offering a 50-minute service that will dive a little deeper into desired muscle groups.
You can now book a single introductory session for $29.
A single session is $55, a three-session package is $135 and a five-session package is $200.
HomeTown Physical Therapy is located at 2269 Senator Robert J. Glasgow in Stephenville and 712 N. 2nd Street in Hico.
The clinics are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A new Stretch & Recovery program like this in Stephenville is a great step for helping people improve mobility and overall wellness. When exploring medical products or services, I also check the Medicom customer service number on PissedConsumer because it gathers consumer experiences and guidance, which helps understand support options and make more informed choices.
That is useful thanks!
Great to see innovative programs like this focusing on flexibility, recovery, and overall wellness. Services that help people stay active and pain-free are truly valuable for the community, while also reminding us how important it is to seek timely care from an Emergency Room in League City when serious injuries occur.
