We are kicking off the weekend with a story about a true labor of love – one that fed the physical and spiritual needs of those who worked for nearly a year to build it.
Now, a replica of the tomb where Jesus was buried after his crucifixion and resurrected, has been unveiled near the old school tabernacle adjacent to the Duffau Baptist Church.
Pastor Greg Hamilton said it was a church member who came up with the idea to construct the life-like tomb.
“The front of it is complete and people can go inside,” he said.
“But more rock is being added to the outside to make it more like a tomb that Jesus would have been in.
“It was built by Johnny Dunn, who is a well-known stone mason in the area. He worked on this project for several months and it even has the boulder that would have closed the tomb.”
The public is invited to stop by and see it any time.

Every week, Beneath the Surface News will highlight something good happening in the area, something we can all celebrate.
But I need your help.
Perhaps you know a couple whose longtime marriage deserves to be publicly celebrated, an employee who always goes the extra mile for customers, a thoughtful child, a good Samaritan who likes to pay it forward, a good deed that has gone unnoticed.
Maybe you were having a bad day and someone’s kindness cheered you up. Maybe it was a neighbor, your nail tech, a waitress or complete stranger.
The stories are endless, so please help me share them.
