Say hi to Harrison!
Say hi to Harrison!

This week’s featured pet up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Harrison, a two-year-old male Heeler mix.

“Harrison is a lively, affectionate pup with a big heart and even bigger personality,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Harrison is ready to find a family of his own.

“Here at the shelter, Harrison is full of energy and likes to bark, but in his foster home, he was calm and quiet,” Serena said.

“Harrison did great with his foster’s smaller dogs and children. He hasn’t been tested with dogs his size or larger yet, so careful introductions are recommended.”

While Harrison can be protective of his family, he warms up beautifully to strangers who take things slow.

“Once you’re in his circle, you’ll find a loyal dog who loves to cuddle and be right by your side,” Serena said.

Harrison is housetrained (though a quick refresher wouldn’t hurt), crate-tolerant, but clever enough to move it when he decides he’s done and walks on a leash.

He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative and on prevention.
