Erath County grand jury indicts Huckabay ISD’s former IT director for child grooming, sexual performance by a child.

An Erath County grand jury on Thursday indicted the former IT director at Huckabay ISD for child grooming and sexual performance by a child.
Matthew Thompson was arrested on Jan. 23 and immediately placed on administrative leave.
According to the official complaint obtained by Beneath the Surface News, Thompson engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old student.
The two exchanged sexually-charged text messages and several nude photos.
Thompson is being held at the Erath County Jail on a $180,000 bond.

Others indicted include:
• Joseph Belmont Albano for possession of a substance in penalty group 1.
• Brent Mathew Bankston for possession of a substance in penalty group 1.
• Bradley Edward Beam for theft ($2,500 < $30,000).
• Juan Manuel Castaneda for driving while intoxicated (3rd or more offense).
• Carmin Carrasquillo for possession of a substance in penalty group 1.
• Garrett James Floyd for driving while intoxicated (3rd or more offense).
• Erin Nicole Gerisch for possession of a substance in penalty group 1.
• Billy Samuel Hamilton, Jr. for burglary of a habitation.
• William Robert Hume, Jr. for manufacture or delivery of a substance in penalty group 1 and possession of a substance in penalty group 1.
• Calvin William Loyd for assault family violence with prior conviction (enhanced).
• Sergio Meraz, Jr. for driving while intoxicated (3rd or more offense).
• Dakota Parker Norden for theft of property $2,500 < $30,000.
• Ryan Dwayne Rios for assault family violence with prior conviction (enhanced).
