Dublin Public Library hosting annual back-to-school fair with giveaways for backpacks and other items kids need.

It’s hard to believe that a new school year is just a few short weeks away.
And now, the Dublin Public Library is gearing up to host its annual back-to-school fair from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.
Dublin Public Library director Adina Dunn told Beneath the Surface News that its partnering with the Dublin Lions Club and Dublin Dairy Queen to serve hot dogs and ice cream.
“This is our third year to do this and It’s a perfect end-to-summer bash,” she said. “We will have special activities and there will even be a foam machine.
“The kids get a ticket and get to pick out their backpacks and we have volunteers manning tables with hygiene items like soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, feminine products and new socks and underwear.”
Last year’s event served more than 200 children.
There is no pre-registration required – just show up – but items are on a first-come, first-served basis.
