Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo announces schedule for Rodeo Heritage Week.

The Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo is set to take place Sept. 26-28 at The Fairgrounds Arena in Erath County.
But first there’s always Rodeo Heritage Week, a slate of exciting events beginning with the “Art of the Cowgirl” luncheon featuring Kelly and Pat Riley at noon on Thursday, Sept. 18, at First United Methodist Church Stephenville.

Friday, September 19
6:30 p.m. Miss Cowboy Capital Rodeo Queen Contest-Horsemanship at Cowboy Church of Erath County
Saturday, Sept. 20
• 9 a.m. - Cowpatty Classic Golf Tournament at Legends Country Club
• 9 a.m. Cowboy Capital of the World Ranch Rodeo Performance #1 at The Fairgrounds Arena
• 9:30 a.m. “Super Looper” Dummy Roping at 377 Arena (register at event)
• 10 a.m. - Cowboy Capital of the World County Team Roping at 377 Arena
• 1 p.m. - Miss Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo Queen Contest at Cowboy Church of Erath County
• 4 p.m. - McCoy’s Mutton Bustin’ prelims at The Fairgrounds Arena ($25 entry fee/pre-registration required)
• 6 p.m. - Cowboy Capital of the World Ranch Rodeo Performance #2 at The Fairgrounds Arena
Sunday, Sept. 21
• 9 a.m. - Stephenville Shoot Out Team Roping at 377 Arena
• 2 p.m. - Cowboy Capital of the World Ranch Rodeo Finals at The Fairgrounds Arena
Monday, Sept. 22
• 4-6 p.m. – Reception for Western art exhibit at CTFAC gallery
Tuesday, Sept. 23
• 6 p.m. – The Show at The Fairgrounds Arena (advance tickets required)
Thursday, Sept. 25
• 6 p.m. – WPRA Barrel Racing Slack at The Fairgrounds Arena
Friday, Sept. 26
• 9 a.m. – PRCA timed event slack at The Fairgrounds Arena
• 7 p.m. – PRCA Rodeo Performance #1, “American Patriot Night – Honoring all those who serve!” at The Fairgrounds Arena
Saturday, Sept. 26
• 7:30 a.m. – Cowboy Capital 5K and one-mile fun run Stephenville City Park
• 10 a.m. – Rodeo Heritage Parade at the downtown square
Route begins at Stephenville City Park, then travels up and around courthouse square and back to City Park.
• 11:30 a.m. - Special Wrangler Round-Up at Cowboy Church of Erath County
• 7 p.m. – PRCA Rodeo Performance #2, “It’s Gonna Get Western Night”
• 9 p.m. – Dancin’ in the Dirt Live Music Concert with Jake Hooker & The Outsiders at The Fairgrounds Arena (free admission with rodeo ticket)
Sunday, Sept. 27
2 p.m. – PRCA Rodeo Performance #3, “Sunday Showdown” at The Fairgrounds Arena
