Beans & Franks is closing its original location, but something new is opening in its place.

Updated: May 11, 2021

It’s been exactly 10 years since Jeff and Jodi Weyers first opened Beans & Franks on Washington Street across from Tarleton State University.

Since then, the coffee house has expanded into a local hangout popular among college students and is the go-to place where residents can grab a delicious coffee, breakfast or lunch.

In 2019, the Weyers opened their second Beans & Franks location on the other side of town – at 2810 W. Washington Street – and have expanded its menu even further.

But on Saturday, B&F will close its original location permanently.

“We have grown to the point where we really need to be centrally-located in one spot,” Jodi told Beneath the Surface News.

Things, after all, are super busy.

The new location just keeps expanding and now includes The Pizza Place.

The restaurant still manages to roast its own coffee using a recently-purchased 30-pound roaster and dishes up all the favorites its customers know and love.

B&F opens early to serve breakfast burritos and tacos, cinnamon rolls, bagels and made-from-scratch muffins.

Just don’t forget the coffee. B&F’s most popular brew is its original “Cool Bean” served hot, over ice or blended.

For lunch or an early dinner, grab a panini, wrap, club or chicken caesar sandwich or one of the many different hot dogs. (The chili dog is a best-seller.)

And of course, there are those delicious cookies.

Jodi said closing the Beans & Franks original location on Saturday is bittersweet and she is thankful for its loyal customers and the “amazing relationships” they have built over the years.

“The good news is that the Copelands are opening something new in its place and it’s going to be a great addition to Stephenville,” Jodi said.

I’m working on getting the scoop on that “something new” now, so stay tuned.
