Revitalize Dublin is hosting an event on Saturday, May 3, at Backwoods that will include a performance by a 90's rock cover band, silent auction and exciting Mr. Legs contest.

Doors open at 3 p.m. and the band begins at 7.

Admission is free, but donations are accepted at the door.

There are still a few VIP tables available for $150, event organizer Lori Beggs told Beneath the Surface News.

Each table seats six and includes preferred seating, credit for the silent auction and a dedicated server for the evening.

A few of the auction items include a Traeger grill from Dowell Ace Hardware, potted plants from Texas Sage, a plant from Scott's Flowers, Tarleton football tickets and various gift cards to local businesses.

Oh, and if you want to enter the Mr. Legs contest, all you have to do is jump in and strut your stuff. The contest will begin around 8.

Revitalize Dublin is a 501C3 non-profit organization committed to the beautification, community development and economic growth of Dublin.

“We assist homeowners who can't necessarily do the work to upkeep the exterior of their home,” Lori said.

“We completed several cleanup projects last year and expect to pick up several more this year.

“We are the crew responsible for the Welcome to Dublin signs downtown; we change them out several times a year, depending on the season and town celebrations.

“We just introduced the Revitalize Dublin matching grant program. The program will reimburse homeowners for exterior home projects up to $500. This would cover everything from painting, landscaping, window and wood replacement.

“By offering this grant, we are hoping to make a positive impact on the appearance of Dublin – making Dublin a more desirable place to visit and live - while restoring pride in our community. “
