Over 5,000 members of the Texas Future Farmers of America (FFA) will compete in the Invitational Leadership Development Event (LDE) at Tarleton State University on Friday, Oct. 30.

Events will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. across the Stephenville campus and at the Tarleton Agriculture Center.

For more than 54 years, Tarleton State has partnered with Texas FFA to host the organization’s invitational events, immersing middle and high school competitors in the campus environment.

Throughout the competition, individuals and teams will contend in 13 events evaluating skills such as organizational operations, public speaking and job interviewing.

Current Tarleton State agriculture students will play an active role in the event as official judges.

“We are incredibly excited to host these events for FFA members from across the state,” said contest coordinator Dr. Michelle Damerau.

“Our continued partnership with Texas FFA not only presents judging opportunities for current students but introduces future Texans to our campus community.”
