A dog that likes to jump and a moody cat are this week’s featured pets.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Rosco, a one to two-year-old Pit mix.

“Rosco has been at the shelter since April 2021,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He was adopted and returned because they could not keep him contained or stop him from going after the neighbor's dog and livestock.”

Despite his aggression towards other animals, Rosco is described as an “absolute sweetheart” with people and children.

“He is very friendly with new people and he is housebroken and crate-trained,” Serena said.

Rosco has a tendency to chew on things that are not his toys so it would wise to put him in a crate when he is left alone.

And since he can jump a four-foot-high fence, secure fencing is a must.

Rosco walks well on a leash, enjoys riding in a car, is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention. This week’s second featured pet is Primrose, a lovable female cat that can be a little moody.

“She is super affectionate one minute and then decides she hates you and will try to eat your face off the next,” Serena said. “She is a typical cat.”

Primrose is a little on the hefty side and is on a special diet.

She is litter box trained, spayed and microchipped.

If you would like to meet Rosco, Primrose or the other 76 dogs and 40 cats that need new homes, stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
