Say hi to Deku.
Say hi to Deku.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Deku, a high-energy puppy with a big heart.

“Deku was found as a stray and sadly never reclaimed, but he's ready to find his forever home where he can run, play and be loved,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“Deku is very curious, playful and full of enthusiasm. He lives for attention and isn't shy about letting you know it.

"He will thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can burn off energy with regular play time."

Deku loves toys, walks and playing with other dogs.

His previous foster family said he was great with people, rides well in a car, does well in a crate and knows how to sit.

“He's mostly potty trained, but may need a little patience as he continues to learn. He's still working on not jumping up to greet people - he just gets so excited," Serena said.

“We don't yet know how Deku is with cats, but he's proven to be a sweet, goofy and loving dog who just needs structure and someone willing to keep up with his puppy energy.”

Deku is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.

Buffy is a beautiful, playful girl with a heart full of love and a purr motor that never quits.

“She and her siblings (Anya, Xander and Riley) were surrendered through no fault of their own,” Serena said.

“When she first arrived, Buffy was battling a URI and ringworm, but she's now fully recovered and ready to start her next chapter.”

Buffy is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for snuggles.

When she's not soaking up attention, she's zipping around playing with toys and exploring her surroundings.

She's the perfect blend of sweet and spunky.

Buffy is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.
