This week’s featured pets include a sweet cat that recently recovered from an animal attack.

Trebeck

This week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society are two cuties you won’t be able to resist.

Trebeck is an eight-month-old male Lab/Pit mix.

“He is a very sweet and energetic boy,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He will need a home that can play with him often or take him on long walks. He is very smart and learned how to sit quickly, but he is still learning to walk patiently on a leash.”

Trebeck is fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Hattie

Hattie is a one-year-old female cat.

“She came to us with a large wound that the vet believed was from another animal, and after fighting the infection for a few weeks, she is all healed and ready for adoption,” Serena said.

Hattie is still a little sensitive about being touched where her hair is growing back, but loves to be scratched on the face.

She is litter box trained and microchipped, but is not dog or cat friendly.

You can meet Trebeck, Hattie and the other 46 dogs and 28 cats up for adoption at the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.

VOLUNTEERS GEAR UP FOR 2ND TRANSFER

Volunteers with ECHS are gearing up to make a second trip to Missouri on Jan. 30 to meet Fetching Tails.

ECHS will deliver dogs to the animal rescue group, which will then find foster families for the pets until they are adopted into permanent homes.

Serena said the transport will take place every month.
