One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is River, a three to four-year-old red heeler mix.
“This sweet, cuddly companion loves being close to her people,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“She does well with dogs, kids and strangers, although cats make her a little nervous.
“She's housebroken and does fine being left alone, but she isn't a fan of being crated.”
River enjoys going for walks and runs and loves spending time outside.
She also makes a great road trip buddy and is happiest riding in the front seat of a car.
At home, she loves nothing more than to curl up in bed with her favorite people for some snuggles.
“She may not always have the best listening skills, but her affectionate personality and loving nature more than make up for it,” Serena said.
“River would thrive in a home that can give her lots of love, patience and plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors.”
Esther is a two to three-year-old tortoiseshell beauty with a big heart and an even bigger love for people.
Surrendered through no fault of her own, this sweet girl hasn't let it dim her affectionate personality.
“If she's relaxing in the back of her kennel, she'll hurry right up to the front the moment someone walks by, hoping for pets and attention,” Serena said.
“Esther previously lived in a home with multiple cats and may do well with feline friends if introduced slowly.
"She keeps her space tidy and uses her litterbox like a pro.”
Esther is spayed, fully vaccinated and is pending a microchip.
