Say hi to Casie!
Say hi to Casie!

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Casie, a six to seven-year-old mixed breed.

“This sweet girl lights up with a wiggly rump once she gets the attention she loves,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“She has a soft heart and an even softer spot for belly rubs and head scratches.”

Casie can be a little anxious with kennel changes, but settles nicely in her crate.

“She just needs a bit of gentle encouragement,” Serena said.

Casie is housebroken, friendly with strangers and truly enjoys cuddling with people.

She can be vocal when she feels ignored or when other dogs are barking because she wants to be part of the moment.

According to her foster, Casie does well with other dogs in a home setting, but has shown some barrier reactivity in the shelter, so a meet-and-greet with any current pets is recommended.

“She'll do best in a calm home with a privacy fence as she has some energy and may chew fencing,” Serena said.

“Casie also has a severe flea allergy that requires prescription flea and tick prevention.”

She was recently adopted and returned through no fault of her own.

Texan is a two to three-year-old domestic short hair with a soft heart and gentle soul.

“She came to us as a stray and was never reclaimed,” Serena said.

“The shelter is still new and a little overwhelming for her, but her sweet nature is already beginning to peek through.”

With patience, kindness and a calm home, this lovely girl is sure to blossom into a devoted and loving companion.

Texan is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and currently being dewormed.

The shelter is hosting an adoption event from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Pets Supplies Plus in Stephenville.
