This sweet cat is depressed after she was abandoned by owner, then lost litter of kittens.
One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Teresa, a one-year-old female domestic shorthair torbie.
“She is a very sweet young girl who was abandoned by her owners,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She came in with kittens, but unfortunately, all of her babies died from sickness.
“She has been distraught and depressed, but is slowly getting better.”
Teresa is very people-friendly and needs to be inside only and given a safe, proper life with someone who treats her well.
She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, litterbox trained and has been at the shelter since August.
Petunia is a four to five-year-old female Black Mouth/Cur mix.
“She is a super sweet girl that loves attention,” Serena said. “She had demodex mange when she came in. It has healed, but she still has some bald spots on her back that may not grow back.”
Petunia can be grumpy in a new home with other animals, but once she settles in, she loves to play.
“She has done well with dogs her size and cats, but is a little picky with small dogs that get in her face,” Serena said. “She also does well with livestock.”
Petunia is not housetrained, but does know basic commands like sit, stay, shake, lay and leave it.
She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and has been at the shelter since January.
