Summer officially gets rolling in Stephenville every year with the kickoff of the wildly-popular concerts in the park.
The concerts will begin during the city’s annual Moo-La Fest from June 5-7 at Stephenville City Park.
The legendary Marshall Tucker Band will kick off this year’s series at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. Scott Kirby and Dave Edmisten will open at 7 p.m.
Organizer Doug Montgomery has been the man behind the concerts for the past 26 years.
“I’m excited for this year’s series,” Montgomery told Beneath the Surface News.
“July 19 is our hometown sweetheart Courtney Patton who is simply phenomenal!
“She is an amazing performer and writer with a fabulous new album that’s getting national attention.
"‘Carry You with Me’ had a terrific review in Rolling Stone magazine in February and I got to see her in Key West with her band and it was an amazing show.”
Here is the official summer lineup.
FRIDAY, JUNE 6 - Scott Kirby and Dave Edmisten will open for Mac McAnally.
SATURDAY, JUNE 7 – Scott Kirby and Dave Edmisten will open for Rodney Crowell.
FRIDAY, JUNE 20 – Davin James opens for the Bellamy Brothers.
FRIDAY, JULY 4 – Presley Haile, Nick Brumley and Race Ricketts open for and Larry Joe Taylor.
SATURDAY, JULY 19 – Max and Heather Stalling open for Courtney Patton.
FRIDAY, AUG. 1 – John Frinzi opens for Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder.
The concerts in the park series is sponsored by Dowell Ace Hardware, First Financial Bank, the city of Stephenville, Texstar Kubota and Triple Crown.
“This would not be possible without the amazing support of Stephenville City Manager Jason King and Mayor Doug Svien,” Montgomery said.
I once bought tickets to a concert through a little-known site - the price was lower than anywhere else. In the end, I showed up at the entrance, and my tickets turned out to be fake. My mood was ruined and, of course, no one returned the money. Since then, I swore off saving on such things. Now I only buy tickets through trusted sites, like Ticketmaster https://ticketmaster.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html . Yes, sometimes it's a little more expensive, but it's reliable - everything comes to your email, you can check it right away, and if anything happens, there's support. I got burned once - now I do everything wisely.
