This people-friendly girl and lovable male cat are this week’s featured pets up for adoption at ECHS.

Say hi to Tazmania.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Tazmania, a five to six-year-old female Pit Bull Terrier.

“This beauty is an affectionate, people-friendly dog who is ready to be the center of attention in her forever home,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“She does well with older children, but should be the only pet in the home.”

Tazmania is strong and will pull on a leash, but she is generally well behaved and does well when crated.

She might have resource guarding tendencies, so it would best to feed her in a designated area.

Tazmania is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

She originally came to the shelter in 2021 and was returned at the end of 2023 for chasing the neighbor’s cats.

And speaking of cats, Jupiter is a one to two-year-old male domestic shorthair.

“This lovable guy was feral when he came in, but has warmed up and loves all the animals,” Serena said. “He is very playful and loves jingle toys.”

Jupiter is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and litter box trained.

He has been at the shelter since early March.
