A festival that began as a way to spotlight the local dairy industry has evolved into the biggest event in Erath County.

Moo-La Fest is set to make its return on Thursday, May 30, through Saturday, June 1, at Stephenville City Park.

A crowd favorite - Carnival Americana – will also be back with those famous games, rides and fun houses the whole family will love.

The midway will be open from 4-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday.

TETHERED HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES

For those who want to experience the thrill of flying, Uplifting Adventures will provide tethered hot air balloon rides from 6-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (weather permitting).

Tickets are $25 each.

MUTTON BUSTIN’, AX THROWING, MINI GOLF AND A MECHANICAL BULL

Michaela Bierman, director of the city’s Tourism and Visitor’s Bureau, said plenty of shade will also make a return this year.

“We will have a giant tent set up and that’s where the mechanical bull and mini golf will be held,” she said

Little cowboys and cowgirls between the ages of four and eight years old, can take part in Bah Ram You Mutton Bustin’ beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

And no festival is complete, of course, without lots of food, live music and shopping.

I’ll give you the details on that in an upcoming story on Beneath the Surface News.

Stay tuned.

Oh, and don’t forget about Moo-ve IT, a 5K and one-mile fun run, happening at 6 p.m. Thursday.
