Tarleton State University’s Texan Theatre presents a five-show run of “[title of show],” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Evening performances are also scheduled for Feb. 21 and 22, both also at 7:30 p.m., with matinees set for 2 p.m. Feb. 22 and 23.
The production is a one-act musical with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell.
The show chronicles its own creation as an entry in the New York Musical Theatre Festival and follows the struggles of the author and composer/lyricist and their two actress friends during the initial three-week creative period, along with subsequent events leading up to the show's production.
“[title of show]” is directed by visiting Assistant Professor of Dance and Theatre John Greer, who is also the show’s musical director and choreographer.
The cast features Gabe Ramos as Jeff, Andrew Rocha as Hunter, Carolina Williams as Susan, Madison Freeman as Heidi and Caroline Bachhofer as understudy for Heidi.
Alexis Mackey is the stage manager, Jake Anderson is the assistant stage manager, Prudence Jones is the scenic/light designer, Dan Stone is projection designer, Allie Shaffer is scenic artist, Paizlee Haby is assistant scenic designer and Hope Fambrough is property master.
Others working on the production crew are costume designer Emily Fox, hair and makeup designer Kay Grimstad, light board operator Brayden Zimmerman, master electrician assistant lighting designer Bee Harris, and the sound crew of Abigail Wilson and Mollie Pastejovsky.
Admission is $5 for students and $8 for children, senior citizens and Tarleton State faculty and staff. All other adults are $10. For ticket information, call 254-968-9669.
