The following is a press release from the Erath County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators from the Erath County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children, task force executed a search warrant inside the city limits of Stephenville on Friday.

Evidence gathered from the search warrant in conjunction with information previously gathered during the investigation led to the issuance of multiple arrest warrants for Matthew Thompson.

Thompson is the technology director at Huckabay ISD.

Huckabay ISD officials were made aware of this investigation and cooperated fully to ensure the safety of their students.

Thompson has been charged with child grooming, a third-degree felony, and sexual performance by a child, a first degree felony.

This is still considered an active investigation.

No additional identifying information related to any victim or victims will be released to the public.
