Tarleton State University’s Symphonic Band will present its first concert of the 2024 fall semester, “A Walk in the Garden,” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.
The show, directed by Dr. Gary Westbrook, will feature the premier of “A Jasmine Tree” by Kevin Charoensri.
The Thai-American San Diego native now resides in Austin and is studying music composition at the University of Texas.
Charoensri began writing music at the age of 12 and has written works for bands, orchestras, choirs, chamber music, jazz combos and film scores.
Admission is $5 for students and $10 for the general public.
