Sunny side up: Enjoy a great breakfast at Fort Worth’s Yolk. And get the avocado toast.

Updated: Jul 8, 2020

I almost felt guilty eating something so pretty.

The Husband and I recently enjoyed an overnight trip to Fort Worth’s Omni hotel and took a stroll downtown the next morning in search of a place for breakfast.

We eventually made our way to a spot we had enjoyed before, and decided to give it another go.

Yolk offers a terrific breakfast menu that includes a variety of omelets like the Iron Man (egg whites, mushrooms, smashed avocado, tomato, onion, green peppers and salsa) and “fan favorites” like chilaquiles verde, corned beef hash and eggs, chicken ‘n’ waffles and croque madame.

I opted for the avocado toast and believe me when I say it might be the best I have ever had.

Think smoked salmon topped with red onion, capers and tomato stacked beautifully on top of a rustic panini slathered with dill cream cheese.

The West Coast crepes were delish. (Or so I hear.)

The Husband ordered the West Coast crepes served with seasoned potatoes, which were equally delicious. (I know this because he didn’t offer me a bite.)

We ate our meal outside on the quaint patio while enjoying some sunshine and people watching.

Yolk also serves fun morning cocktails like mimosas and a great Bloody Mary, but after an evening of wine drinking, we decided to stick with coffee and water.

It was time to rehydrate after an evening of wine.

Yolk’s affordable breakfast (both entrees were less than $13) is a must for those in Fort Worth looking for a yummy meal in a great location.

It’s the perfect place to start your day and we will head back sooner rather than later. You should too.

And get the avocado toast.
