Stephenville High School’s Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) traveled to Round Rock for the recent State HOSA Competition.

“We are excited to announce that out of the top 21 HOSA students in the state competing for a medal in pharmacology, Tucker Hubbard got 2nd place,” said health science teacher Jody Fain.

“This achievement advances him to Nashville, Tennessee, in June to compete in the International HOSA competition for pharmacology. He will be competing with our National HOSA competitors as well as international competitors from China, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.”

Tucker also placed in the National Geographic Learning Academic Testing Center for Biochemistry and Microbiology.

The 2,466 students who were signed up to compete at State HOSA had an opportunity to compete in any of these NGL Academic Testing Center events.

Tucker tested and received 1st place in biochemistry and 3rd place in microbiology. Competitors Jacob “Cole” Chaplin, Hayley Yates and Natalie Estrada competed in the National Geographic Learning Academic Testing Center for Biology.

Delia Martinez competed in the National Learning Geographic Academic Testing Center for Anatomy & Physiology.

They will have an opportunity to compete again in the same events at the International HOSA competition.
