Stephenville Downtown Merchants ring in the season with annual holiday open house. You’re invited!

The Stephenville Downtown Merchants are ringing in the Christmas shopping season with a holiday open house from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday.

The festive event is one of my favorites and will include refreshments, entertainment, and of course, the chance to do lots of shopping.

The Erath County courthouse square and downtown plaza are already decked for Christmas, beckoning holiday shoppers to keep it local.

James Kimbel, with Scott’s Flowers on the Square, said the iconic downtown retailer is ready for the most wonderful time of the year.

“This is our 49th Holiday Open House,” Kimbel told Beneath the Surface News. “We look forward to sharing holiday cheer with everyone. Friday is the perfect time to order Thanksgiving centerpieces.”

Scott’s isn’t the only local retailer jumping into the holiday spirit.

Julie Lowrance, owner of Frames Etc and president of the Stephenville Downtown Merchants group, said most businesses will offer wine, snacks and festive fun.

“Frames Etc will have mulled cider, goodie bags and a harpist for the evening,” she said.

See you there!
