Stephenville announces that it has found its next fire chief. And he is from Round Rock.
Round Rock Fire Chief Robert Isbell has been named as the lone finalist in the city’s search for its next fire chief following the retirement of Jimmy Chew.
“We had an extremely competitive field of applicants,” City Manager Allen Barnes said in a statement to Beneath the Surface News. “There were about 30 applicants from as far away as Alaska and as close as Stephenville.”
Isbell has been Round Rock’s fire chief for the past five years and previously served as chief for the cities of Midland, Euless and Southlake.
He is expected to assume his role as Stephenville’s new fire chief on Oct. 4.
