If you’re counting down the days until Halloween, there’s a super store in Stephenville that’s waiting for you.
Spirit Halloween is now open at 2133 W. Washington Street in Stephenville (next to Harbor Freight).
I stopped by on Tuesday and spoke with manager Amanda Mills and was blown away by the amount of stuff they have.
From costumes for kids and adults to spooky (and downright scary) decor - it’s a Halloween extravaganza.
And it’s fun!
As customers enter the store, they’re greeted by a subway train surrounded by some pretty frightful dudes.
“People come into the store just for the subway,” Amanda told Beneath the Surface News.
“We are one of the largest Spirit stores in the area because of our location, so we get a lot of cool stuff some of the other stores don’t have.”
A few of the most popular costumes for kids include ghosts, super heroes and characters from Wicked and Fortnite.
“This is crazy, but banana costumes are super popular for kids and adults,” Amanda said. “The company keeps sending us more because they keep selling out.”
From elaborate décor (think monsters that literally rise from the grave) to skeletons, door mats, hooded blankets, fuzzy slippers and all things cute, you’ll find everything you need to throw a memorable Halloween bash.
The store is open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Nov. 3.

By the way, the city’s annual Safe Trick ‘R Treat will take place from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Stephenville City Park, but more on that later.
