“With every bass you hook, think of Jayden Kahne McKinney.”
The second annual bass fishing tournament honoring Jayden McKinney is set to take place on Saturday, June 1, at the Rough Creek ramp at Lake Granbury.
The cost to enter is $80 per boat.
All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Jayden McKinney Memorial Foundation, which honors Jayden’s legacy of kindness by helping others.
The foundation has sponsored several area youth organizations and is set to distribute $16,000 in scholarships to Stephenville High School graduating seniors.
Jayden’s mom Kristi McKinney told Beneath the Surface News that last year’s fishing tournament had 43 teams and raised $23,180.
“Jayden’s love for fishing started at a young age and he dreamed of tournament fishing in high school and college,” she said.
“Although his dreams were cut short after only one season, keeping this tournament in his honor means so much to the people who love him.”
You can get involved by donating raffle and auction items or making a monetary donation.
There are also a variety of sponsorship levels available:
