Say hi to Trigger and Shoelace. This energetic dog and lazy cat needs a new home.

Trigger

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Human Society is Trigger, a three-year-old male Husky Pit mix.

“This handsome guy is super sweet and playful,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He is very energetic and needs a home where he can get out and run.”

Trigger knows how to sit and shake and is very treat-motivated, but willing to learn.

His previous owner said he dislikes other dogs, but does fine with cats and children.

“He absolutely loves squeaky toys and soft beds,” Serena said. “He has been an outside dog, so he is not house trained. He is nervous in busy, new environments and will need a few days to get comfortable in a new home.”

Trigger is partially vaccinated and microchipped.

It is required that he not be neutered within 30 days of adoption.

This week’s featured cat is Shoelace, a three-year-old male domestic shorthair.

“He is a lazy little man that likes to lounge around,” Serena said. “He is cat friendly, but hasn't been tested with dogs or children.

“He is a little shy, but loves rubdowns on his back.”

Shoelace is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.

If you would like to meet Trigger, Shoelace or the other 67 dogs and 25 cats that need homes, stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
