One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Splash, a five to six-year-old Australian Shepherd with a gentle soul.
“This sweet girl is looking for a calm, cozy home where she can be your one-and-only pup and truly shine,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“This animal would do best in a home where it is the only dog.”
Splash might be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she’s a laid-back, loyal companion who's happiest just hanging out.
She does great with cats, kids and even livestock.
Splash is housebroken, does well left loose in the home and already knows how to sit.
She's very food-motivated, so teaching her new things will be fun and easy! She's not a fan of crates, so she'll need a home that's okay giving her a little freedom.
Splash is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to find her perfect match.

Red is a one to two-year-old domestic shorthair with a sweet personality and lots of love to give.
“She came in with her sister and is now ready for a fresh start in a loving home,” Serena said.
“She gets along great with dogs and other cats, making her a perfect fit for a multi-pet household.”
Red loves head and neck pats and will happily soak up all the attention you give her.
She's litter box trained, does well in a crate (especially with treats) and still has a few adorable kitten-like habits.
Red is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

I read the article about Splash the sweet Australian Shepherd and it shows how loving and calm she is while waiting for a new home, and how these dogs can be loyal companions that fit well with families, kids, and other pets. Australian Shepherds are known for being smart, energetic, and devoted friends who need activity and care. I remember when I had a big week of projects and felt stuck, I used help with python assignment so I could finish my work and still take time to relax and read stories like this about dogs. That made me see that finding support helps you balance work and joy.
