One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Maggie, a six-year-old female poodle mix.

“Maggie was adopted from us in early 2019 and was returned due to not getting along with the children,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“She has not been aggressive in any capacity, but is not a fan of children being in her space and pushing her boundaries.

“Ideally, her future home will only have older children or no kids.”

Maggie does do well with dogs, cats and strangers, but has never been around livestock.

She is housebroken, crate trained and does well on a leash and in a car.

Maggie loves snuggles and any kind of attention.

She is spayed, vaccinated for DHPP and bordetella, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention.

The adopter will need to have her rabies vaccination updated.

Homie is a three to four-year-old male domestic shorthair.

“He is a laid back, catnip-loving gentleman who's ready to leave the shelter behind for a cozy forever home,” Serena said.

“He was found in town and never reclaimed.”

Homie recently completed treatment for a mild upper respiratory infection and is feeling great.

This big guy is sweet and independent.

He enjoys attention, but isn't fond of being picked up or carried around.

He's done well around kittens, but is not a fan of dogs, so a dog-free home is a must.

Homie is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.
