Sampson’s life was spared, but now this week’s featured pet needs a loving home and a second chance.

This week’s featured pet up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Sampson, a three-year-old Pyrenees/Shepherd mix.

“He came in tagged as a feral dog and it was advised that he be euthanized,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “Sampson was not aggressive; he was just scared of people and didn't know what love was.

“Since being here, Sampson has opened up and shows his personality. He is still reserved, but he is learning that he likes gentle affection.”

He is neutered, microchipped and is heartworm positive, but has started on treatment.

“Sampson has been at the shelter since September of last year,” Serena said. “He deserves a chance.”

You can meet Sampson at the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
