Saint-Gobain offers employees $500 incentive to get vaccinated as spread of Covid spikes.
One of Stephenville’s largest employers – Saint-Gobain Abrasives – is working to curb the spread of Covid-19 by offering its employees a $500 incentive to get vaccinated by Nov. 30.
“The vaccine is not required, but we are doing all we can to ensure that our employees get vaccinated,” Jayla Bulla, human resources director for Coated Abrasives North America, told Beneath the Surface News.
The Stephenville plant has also reverted back to requiring employees and visitors to wear masks when inside the facility.
The move comes as Erath County officials released its latest Covid numbers that show another spike in new cases.
Emergency management coordinator Cyndi Smith reported 64 new cases on Wednesday, saying the higher-than usual number was due to a large number of students at Tarleton State University getting tested.
There are 17 local hospitalizations.
The number of active cases now stands at 367 with 202 in Stephenville, 43 in Dublin and 122 in the county.
