Police ID robbery suspect and he is a local guy. Now they just have to find him.

Jeffrey Harper is 5’10" and 260 pounds. He has black/gray hair and brown eyes.

Investigators with the Stephenville Police Department have identified the suspect in the armed robbery of Wrangler’s convenience store and now they are asking for the public’s help locating him.

The suspect, 58-year-old Jeffrey Sylvester Harper, has a Stephenville address but has also been known to reside in Dublin.

“He has an extensive and violent criminal history that spans across multiple states,” Lt. James Gresham told Beneath the Surface News.

A few of those charges include armed robbery, burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and escape from custody.

A tip helped authorities identify Harper.

“We have not been able to locate him and we don’t know if he is still in the area or if he has fled,” Gresham said.

Harper is known to drive a black Dodge Charger with license plate No. MZK7473.

“He is considered armed and dangerous so we don’t want anyone to confront him,” Gresham said. “If anyone sees him or knows where he is at, they should call police or 9-1-1.

“We would obviously prefer, however, for Mr. Harper to surrender so we don’t have any more problems.”

State and federal agencies are also helping with the investigation.

Anyone with information on Harper’s whereabouts should call the SPD at 254-918-1273 or Erath County Crime Stoppers at 254-965-2274.
