The Erath County Republican Party is hosting two forums for candidates running in the March 1 primary election.
The first, featuring candidates running for local offices, will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, at Stephenville ISD’s Bond Auditorium.
Those who have already committed to participating include candidates for Erath County judge, Alfonso Campos and Brandon Huckabee; candidates for county treasurer, Kimberly Barrier and Angie Shawver; candidates running for justice of the peace precincts 1,3 and 4, Chili Alexander, Gregory Evans, Jocelyn Perez and Lisa Williams; and candidates running for justice of the peace precinct 2, Chris Evans and Chance Garrett.
Erath County Republican Party chairman Dave Washam told Beneath the Surface News that the forum will be divided by races and candidates will be given questions in advance.
"One of the most important things about this event is that attendees will get a chance to talk to these candidates one-on-one after the forum,” Washam said.
A second forum featuring candidates running for statewide offices will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 25 at City Hall at City Limits.
The slate of candidates that will take part has not yet been finalized.
Both forums will be live streamed on the Erath County Republican Party’s Facebook page.
