Cabbage is one of the many foods thought to bring a person good fortune at the start of a new year.

The leafy greens feel a little like paper money, and who couldn’t use more of that?

Here’s another plus: cabbage is delicious.

WHAT’S IN IT

2 lbs. ground beef, browned

1 cup onion, chopped

29-ounce can tomato sauce

1 head cabbage, chopped

1 cup instant rice, uncooked

1 tsp. salt

14-ounce can beef broth

HOW TO MAKE IT

Combine all ingredients except broth in a deep 9x13 baking dish.

Drizzle with broth and cover with aluminum foil.

Bake at 350 degrees for one hour; uncover and stir. Cover again; bake an additional 30-40 minutes.

Enjoy!
