Washington Commons is set to welcome its first restaurants into Stephenville’s mega-shopping center and you're going to like what you’re about to hear.

For all you sushi lovers, Poseidon Sushi Hibachi Bar is opening between James Avery and Mattress Firm.

I was unfamiliar about this restaurant so I did a little research.

Poseidon describes itself as a restaurant that “provides a luxurious ambiance to enjoy stylish Japanese dishes.”

I like the sound of that!

Its mouthwatering menu includes dishes like crab rangoon, egg rolls, pork belly skewers, sushi and sashimi and entrees like Pad Thai, Mongolian Beef, General Tso’s Chicken and Udon Noodle Soup.

Poseidon also dishes up a variety of lunch specials and has a full bar that serves wine, beer and craft cocktails. (Think cosmopolitans, blueberry sangria, cucumber and jalapeno mojitos and margarita flights.)

And if you enjoy delicious sandwiches, the announcement that Firehouse Subs is also coming to Washington Commons might just set your pants on fire.

The gourmet sub restaurant will be located next to Poseidon.

It specializes in a variety of delicious subs like the Spicy Cajun Chicken, Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket, Sweet and Spicy Meatball, New York Steamer (corned beef brisket and pastrami), Hook and Ladder (served “fully involved” with smoked turkey breast and Virginia ham) and the Engineer (smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss and mushrooms).

If you’re wondering about the nod to the firehouse, the restaurant chain was founded in 1994 by two brothers – Chris and Robin Sorenson – who (you guessed it!) were firefighters.

Today, Firehouse Subs has over 1,200 restaurants in 48 states.

"The addition of Firehouse Subs and Poseidon Sushi and Hibachi will continue to provide popular dining options to the market," said SEDA president Jeff Sandford. "This completes the tenant mix at Washington Commons and will serve as an added opportunity to attract an even larger trade market."

Unfortunately, the opening date for both restaurants has not been set, but hey, it’s always fun to have something new to look forward to, right?

Right.
