Help this Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar feed kids this summer by registering for this 5K fun run/walk.

Shayla Mader is an SHS senior and Texas Ford Leadership Scholar raising money for the Summer Food 4 Kids program in Stephenville.


A 5K fun run/walk happening at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, will benefit the Summer Food 4 Kids program in Stephenville.


Shayla Mader, a Stephenville High School senior, is raising money as part of the My Ford Leadership Scholar Program.


The 12-week summer program costs an estimated $12,000 to feed approximately 100 kids.


Shayla is trying to raise $25,000 and now the Stephenville Running Club has stepped in to help her reach that goal.


“Shayla is an amazing young woman and we are helping her coordinate this run,” SRC Club founder Julie Brinkley told Beneath the Surface News.


The 5K will include interactive stations along the route and raffle prizes.

It will begin in the parking lot of Lakeside Physicians located at 950 Bluebonnet in Stephenville.


The cost to enter is $25 and you can register by clicking here.

A variety of sponsorships are also available.


Register by Thursday, April 18, to guarantee a T-shirt.
