Hearing on Splashville drowning rescheduled for Sept. 30.

A hearing on last year’s drowning of a four-year-old at Splashville was expected to take place Wednesday at the Donald R. Jones Justice Center, but has once again been postponed.

Dustin Burrows, the attorney representing the family of Colt Williams, is asking the court to grant the defense team greater access to those connected to the tragedy, including deposing lifeguards on duty that day, those responsible for their training and supervisors.

A pleading filed with the court states that the petitioners in the case - Colt’s parents Jason and Cassidy Williams – are seeking to conduct their own investigation into what transpired that day.

Colt drowned at the waterpark during a private party on June 24, 2023.

The hearing has been reset for Sept. 30.
